The Browne House in Watertown, Mass is presented by Historic New England as an example of rare and in some cases totally unique architectural features. It is the first example of a fully documented building restoration in the United States. It’s restoration exemplifies the use of historical and scientific archeological methodology that has now become the norm in such work. Historic New England is a leader in continuing to develop such scientific studies as well as studying and explaining the material and social culture of New England history.
