Join us for free admission on Community Day—our Thank You to the community as we celebrate our 40th anniversary!
Saturday, September 10, 9:00am to 4:30pm
Admission will be free all day, but advance ticket reservations are required through our website. In the morning, we’ll kick off the festivities by making one-of-a-kind noisemakers. Then, join us on a celebratory parade to our cake-cutting ceremony at 11:00am, led by a special guest from the Maynard Public Library.
You can also enjoy a performance of “Dhol-Tasha-Lezim,” a “double-headed drumming and dance” folk art form that is indigenous to Maharashtra, a state on the west coast of India. This folk art is often performed during celebrations and always performed in a group, to engage the community at large. Throughout the day, try your hand at some classic Discovery Museum activities such as Balls & Ramps, Cup Towers, a “Discovery Quest” scavenger hunt, and more!
